Possible Huth Interest Confirmed

Blackburn have been linked with Robert Huth on more than one occasion this week and Mark Hughes has now confirmed a possible interest.

A move to the Riverside for the German International appeared all but completed before the World Cup only for a failed medical to scupper the deal. Middlesbrough have looked to re-ignite the deal recently but Hughes could now battle for Huth`s signature.

'Players of Robert Huth's ability don't come on the market very often. Whether or not he's available at the moment, or is a possibility, we will have to wait and see," Hughes said when speaking to Sky Sports News.

The former Welsh National Boss would add.

'There are a lot of players out there you covet and sometimes it's not possible to get them.'

With Lucas Neill`s agent saying that Neill would not sign a new contract at Ewood Park and Brett Emerton still reportedly attracting interest from Boro and now West Ham Hughes still hopes something can be sorted out. He would follow up his thoughts on Huth with.

'The situation is exactly the same as the last time I spoke to you. I will have an opportunity while we're away to sit down and talk it through, talk my feelings about the situation. We have offered them good contracts and I hope they sign.'

Hughes then echoed the thoughts that I personally hold that the club is not in a position where it has to let players go. So he`ll not let anyone go unless he wants them to.

We would rather players didn`t walk away for nothing at the end of their contract but surely their contribution could be worth more to the club this season should they stay, and not just financially? I would suggest that Lucas Neill would still remain the player most would least like to see go given a choice though.
