Rovers slightly short for Carling clash

It's the battle of the bang in form against the drastically out of form tonight as Rovers take on Newcastle in the Carling Cup 4th round.

Rovers themselves have a few headaches with Steve N'Zonzi set to serve a one game suspension after picking up his fifth booking of the season (in 9 games Steve, impressive) in the 2-1 defeat to Spurs.

Add to that problem that Steve Kean is still without Scott Dann, Michel Salgado, Vince Grella (copy and paste for the next game), David Dunn and Ryan Nelsen and the squad is looking a bit threadbare.

With Jordan Slew cup tied after playing in the first round with his old club Sheffield United the Rovers squad for the match is as follows -

Robinson, Bunn, Olsson, Samba, Givet, Lowe, Hanley, Anderson, Ribeiro, Pedersen, Petrovic, Vukcevic, Aley, Cotton, Rochina, Hoilett, Formica, Blackman, Yakubu, Goodwillie, Roberts.

Looking thin for the squad. The conundrum I can see is that we don't have Salgado fit for right back so Lowe will have to play there but what about in central midfield? No Zonz means a gap there and if Lowe moves into the centre then who plays right back? The untested Bruno??

Petrovic can hold with vukcevic and gamst in front of him!
Sasman!
I'd like to see Ribeiro at right back but the most important thing is that J-Rob doesn't start..I'd try Rochina playing just behind Goodwillie
Mike J.
Or we could run JRob ragged tonight, leaving our other strikers fresh for the league game :D
Sasman!
more excuses for kean if we lose...
