Nelsen not going Dutch

Blackburn fly out for their training camp in the Netherlands today but Ryan Nelsen will not be joining the rest of the squad.

No need to worry Rovers fans the only reason for Nelsen not flying out with the rest of the squad is a slight hamstring injury nothing to do with the fractured bone in his leg last season or recent speculation linking him with a move to Premiership rivals Portsmouth.

'It is dragging on somewhat - it is a little bit of a niggle that he just can't shake off" said Hughes speaking to the clubs website.

The New Zealand International skipper will remain behind for intensive treatment as a precautionary measure to ensure he`ll be ready for the Premiership kick-off.

The trip which will include Chilean triallist Jorge Acuna, new boy Benni McCarthy along with Brett Emerton and Lucas Neill will involve games with up and coming German Bundesliga side Alemannia Aachen who became the first ever German Second Division club to qualify for the last 32 of the UEFA Cup and Dutch club Sparta Rotterdam.

Full squad as follows: Mokoena, Todd, McCarthy, Friedel, Emerton, Bentley, Matteo, Jeffers, McEveley, Brown, Roberts, Douglas, Acuna, Neill, Peter, Gray, Gamst Pedersen, Gallagher, Savage, Kuqi, Reid, Tugay, Khizanishvili
