Emerton Going Nowhere

Blackburn boss Mark Hughes insists that Brett Emerton will not be moving to Middlesbrough following speculation claiming a move could be close.

Hughes insists that despite reports to the contrary Middlesbrough have not yet been in contact with the club as regards to Emerton saying.

'No one from Middlesbrough has contacted me about Brett, but there is always speculation when guys are going into the last year of their contracts.'

Australian Internationals Emerton, 27, and 28-year-old Lucas Neill, who following a fantastic World Cup Finals has attracted the attention of some of Europe`s finest clubs, are in the final years of their current deals with Rovers, but it is hoped both will sign new long-term deals shortly.

I WOULD LIKE TO THINK SO. ASLONG AS WE MANAGE TO KEEP OUR BEST PLAYERS AND BENNI LIVES UP TO HIS EXPECTATIONS THEN WE STAND A CHANCE. HE SAYS HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A TOP 4 FINISHER AND TOP GOAL SCORER, WHICH IS TRUE SO FINGERS CROSSED HE DOES THE BUSINESS HERE.

I would get rid of Emerton as he is the slowest winger in the Premiership and has never lived up to his hype, that attracted Man Utd b4 .Neill is quality and should stay as Barca now have the best left, right back in the world in Zambrotta
Clint
HE'S NOT REALLY DELIVERED CONSISTANTLY WHAT HIS EARLY FORM PROMISED, SO MAYBE CASHING IN NOW WOULD BE A BETTER OPTION. NEILL ON THE OTHER HAND WE HAVE TO KEEP, BUT I'M AFRAID IT LOOKS LIKE HE'LL GO? ARTICLE ON HIM TO FOLLOW SHORTLY

Emerton to Middlesboro?? No offense to M'boro but thats hardly a step up or showing any ambition on Emerton's part
Clint
I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE SAYING CLINT.
