Let's see if the media correct themselves on this little nugget of information.
Back in the summer during the protracted and rather ugly Phil Jones to Manchester United transfer there was a big hold up of a week as Rovers and the Premier League champions had a little fight over the terms of the transfer.
Jones had a £16.5 million minimum fee release clause which allowed him to move to anybody willing to pay that trigger fee but Rovers believed they were entitled to more and accused Manchester United of foul play in getting their man.
United of course argued that they'd paid the right amount and to send the young man over first class without delay.
The media of course were quick to jump on Venky's case blaming things like a misunderstanding of how football works and language barriers for all the confusion and once the Indians had come to their senses they would have to just shut up and accept they should just accept their lot.
Well imagine our surprise when the news went public today that Rovers are due £100,000 per international appearance up to 20 caps for every England honour the boy wonder racks up.
In total Rovers are due £4 million in add ons based on several performance related targets in the Jones' deal - this is ON TOP of the £16.5 million transfer fee.
Four months after the deal went through and the mystery that surrounded who ended up winning this little stand off looks to have been spilled.
They have their shortcomings and they're still as annoying as Katie Price but credit where it's due they stuck to their guns here and dug out a little bit of extra cash for the cause.
Will the media give it a little mention that big, bad Manchester United didn't get their way?
Nope, didn't think so.
