'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Rao's give their backing to Kean AGAIN

Steve Kean has received the full backing of the owners shortly before Rovers dispatched of Pune FC in the first ever match played by a Premier League side in India.

Rovers triumphed 3-0 in their only match of their first team trip to Venky's headquarters with goals from Ruben Rochina and two from Jason 'Barn Door' Roberts.

Prior to the game though Venky's made their feelings clear on the current managerial dilemma at the club.

In short, they are ignoring calls for the managers head and they are full behind him.

But Balaji Rao is quoted in the Daily Mail as saying - 'The team is in the relegation zone right now, but it is going to come up I am sure of that.

'We do know that a few people have been generating thousands of mails demanding the ousting of current manager Steve Kean, who is a brilliant manager.

'As far as investment goes, in the January transfer window, we will take a call at how we would be improving the squad. By then we will get a clear idea of where we stand.

'On the whole the goal of playing in Europe over the next four to five years is a realistic one.'

What planet are they on? Seriously?
rossp2112
He should be doing stand up comedy, not running a PL football club coming out with statements like that.

this is outrageous...

Surely with these comments the Premier League MUST look into their motives for ownership of the club as it's clearly for publicity and they don't care if it's good or bad because they can spin it with no shame every time! How can these people be fit and proper? Kean will be officially the worst ever premier league manager in it's 20 year history next Saturday WHEN we lose away at QPR and we will be planted at the bottom of the league - how does that make Kean brilliant or prove that the club is heading in the right direction???? Disgraceful, shamefull, disgusting and just wrong!

Can't say that UNTIL we lose away at QPR next Saturday, can we mate? But I'm sure you'll come up with something different if we win. I'm assuming that Coyle and Wenger (!!??), apparently both as badly in the mire, don't upset your line of thinking. Come on you blues!!
