Getting Ahead Of The Pack??

The summer transfer window has barely shut, however, Blackburn Rovers are already understood to be plotting several moves into the transfer market when it re-opens in January!!

Nicky Maynard is attracting a lot of attention from clubs and Bristol City might be forced to admit defeat in their efforts to retain the 24-year-old when January arrives. Reports say that Rovers have held talks (described as extensive talks) with the nPower Championship side over a move to Ewood Park, with a fee of £6.5million mentioned. West Ham United, Leicester City and Southampton are all interest, however we can offer something that none of them can, Premier League football!!

Another striker on the Rovers radar is Vedad Ibisevic, who almost came to Ewood before the transfer window closed. A £6million fee was agreed with Hoffenheim, however, fears over his fitness put an end to this move with talks of a visa problem also mentioned. His agent Andreas Sadlo has told The Lancashire Telegraph that a move could still be on though, he said: "A lot can happen in six months but Blackburn was an interesting club.

"We checked the club - the infrastructure, the facilities - and it is interesting for us.

"It was a possibility, there were negotiations but maybe it was not the right moment."

Tottenham, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion have all previous shown and interest in the striker who could still find his way to Rovers in January??

The third and final striking option linked with Rovers today is veteran Italian Luca Toni, who isn't expected to have much of a future with Juventus who could be given a free transfer. Rovers are understood to be monitoring the situation along with Fulham and Queen Park Rangers. Galatasaray also showed an interest before the Turkish transfer window closed.

Just because the transfer window is closed it doesn't mean that moves aren't being plotted with January in mind, however, who is plotting these Venky's or Steve Kean?? Kean might not even be here when January arrives!!
