'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Second round of contract extensions due

With the summer transfer business concluded and incoming transfers over for 2011 it seems that the new order of business is for Steve Kean and his team to sort out some new contracts for existing players.

Jolly Steve is over in India doing his usual meeting with the Rao family during the international break and it seems that the main topic of discussion is keeping some of the players who have been here a shade longer than the summer incomings.

The names that are up for discussion are Junior Hoilett (who has been due to sign a new deal for weeks now), David Dunn, Jason Roberts, Paul Robinson and Gael Givet... all of whom have deal expiring in 1-2 years time.

Kean told Sky Sports - 'It's just really to start discussing the contract lengths of the lads who don't have too long left on their contract.

'It's just getting ourselves in a position where we can really come back and the lads I identify with the owners who should have extensions, I think we can get that started so we don't find ourselves in a situation where people's contracts are running out.'

You may remember that Venky's approved a batch of players to have new deals back when they first took over so it looks like round two is fast upon us.

Bit of a mixed bag of potential new deal coming up. Personally I'd get Hoilett's done as an absolute priority as it has been pending for an absurd amount of time!!

Get Junior and Robbo sorted first, then worry about the others!

robbo and hoilett are certainly the priority, but would like to keep all of them. they have all become an important part of the team on and off the team...

Get Hoilett and Robinson done, in fact get the money we would have given to Dunn and Roberts and split it between them!

Agreed with above, get the obvious done ASAP (Hoilett + Robinson) maybe give Dunny an extension but please not JR, let's face it as he get's even older and slows down more he will be even less of a goal threat than he is now, if that is possible.
