Kean - judge us all you want now

Rovers boss Steve Kean is adamant that now is the time that people can judge his squad after assembling a 'squad as strong as we have'.

Rovers added three new faces to the side on deadline day and Kean is pleased with the work of the Rovers crew, if at times the going has been slow.

But with 0 points on the board so far from their opening 3 EPL games the challenge starts now.

Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph - "I think I`ve always said judge us at the end of the window'

"It was slow trying to get quality in but we`ve done that.

"I`m delighted for the owners and the fans that we could assemble a squad as strong as we have.

"I think the transfer window has been very good, very positive.

"There was always speculation that some of our quality was going to be leaving the club. That`s not happened, we`ve managed to keep the majority of the squad together and we`ve managed to add lots of quality on the last day - and the other business earlier in the window has all been excellent.

"Scott (Dann), Yakubu, Goodwillie, Petrovic, Vukcevic, we`ve made some marvellous signings.

"We`ve got another couple of young ones, Myles Anderson and the young lad from Sheffield (Slew). These are ones that will be for the future.

"When you look at the first couple of games it was difficult because we had most of our defenders injured.

"Now we can add because Scott is another defender, we`ve got Chris Samba, Gael Givet and Ryan Nelsen coming back so we`ve got lots of experience and quality that's all coming back at the same time.

"Then additions as well so I think that all bodes well for us having a real good go.

"Starting now I think we can genuinely put a team on the pitch with people that are fit and ready to really hit the ground running.

"I do think we should have the points on the board. If we play as well as we did against Everton, together with the additions we`ve now got and the lads coming back from injury, then I think we`ll be climbing the table very, very soon."

Hes absolutely right.. now is the time to judge results... if they go well we will all agree he needed time, if it doesnt work and we are still down there then there can be only one outcome

I do think on this matter that he is right - he has always said with a full summer window we'd be better. But that doesn't hide from the fact that some of our summer business should have been sorted quicker!!

I Agree with Kean, the time for judging is now. I hope all the fans get behind the team now!

Well yes kean you will be judged more harshly now as you will have no more excuses! I think we should have three points by now, but thats by the by. I think the one thing the owners and manager will learn is not to leave the transfers too late next time...

By the sound of it he's delighted with the business done in the transfer window, so he's right, we should be moving up the table. And if we do, that'll be grand. And if we don't, then judgement may come sooner than he expects.

Ask and you shall receive Kean! We have 2 games now where it will be difficult to get points. Come away with 3 from 1 of the games and it will be a start, anything less and the pressure really will be on!

He' got this month to prove himself, if he doesn't then we need to get someone in to help us avoid the drop over December as the teams in the bottom after new year are generally the ones to be relegated.
