'If It's Football, It's Vital'

In short... Expect us to be busy

The clock is ticking.

It's transfer deadline day and probably one of the more important days in Rovers recent history as Steve Kean and his team NEED to bring in players.

That's not just a request, it's a necessity.

First through the door if reports are to be believed is Scott Dann from Birmingham City in either a permanent or loan with view to buy transfer after we agreed some sort of deal with his current club.

But the last minute market should also be our friend with at least 3 incoming players required to give us a fighting chance of having a decent squad size.

A couple may be loans, a couple may involve a fee but there is no disputing the fact that today is the day that the talking must stop and the action kicks in if we are going to improve.

Oh and holding onto Chris Samba would be nice.

If we could add Hoillet's new contract to a few new faces, I'd say it's pretty good business.

I can’t decided whether I’m gonna be glued to the screen or just close my eyes and ears and wait til 11pm. I should do the latter but I don’t think I’m gonna be able to resist. My fingers are well and truly crossed!

Well I'm happy with that, short of getting a 20 goal a season striker (how many of them are there?) I think we did good business.. having the Yak may mean that we don't have to watch JR and Dann is supposed to be the nuts.. and Samba stayed

Got to say im pretty pleased with our signings on deadline day. Yes we didnt get that 20-goals-a-season striker which we were promised, but we got a qualiy CB to play alongside Samba (so glad he stayed!), and a proven striker in Yakubu - providing he can be bothered to play! Also, i think the injuries to dunn and pederson are a blessing in disguise. Dunn cant cut it anymore and pederson has been PATHETIC for a few seasons now. It now means some of the other, potentially more exciting players will get a chance to prove themselves.

Also interesting to see that both Yak and Dann said that Kean was the main reason they joined - we dont see that too often do we?? Anyway, now Samba is back i can see us going on a good run and HOPEFULLY finish higher up the table...maybe 12th?
