Rovers agree 5m fee for Scott Dann

Earlier this evening Sky Sports reported Blackburn Rovers interest in Scott Dann of Birmingham City.

Rovers are now reported to have had a 5 million bid accepted for the player and will now enter into contract negotiations later on today.

Dann is looking to leave Birmingham this window after their relegation from the Premier League.

The central defender has been linked with Arsenal, Liverpool, Stoke and QPR this window with the latter possibly looking at lodging a bid themselves.

5 million is a great deal. Hope it comes off.

if this move breaks down then we are a joke. We need him so should be prepared to offer him good enough money.

I can't help but feel that he is a samba replacement rather than a jones replacement, I hope I'm wrong.

If we can pull this off and keep Samba fair play, needs finalising today though so we can move on and sign a much needed striker. 5M is a steal, could be just the signing we need!

Potentially a great deal - so long as he is to play alongside Samba, not instead of him.

As above - most importantly we must keep CS. If we can get Scott Dann for 5m that would be a fantastic bit of business. I look forward to hearing this confirmed ASAP

I can't see Samba leaving now - as far as I know there haven't been any bids for him, and we don't have to sell - also, we would be condemned to relegation if we do!!

I think I concur with most here - If Samba stays then this could be a great signing. If Samba goes then this is just deflating.

This is obviously why the John deal was trashed... although would have been nice to get bothe, especially as we are still short on quality.. when the hell are we signing someone who can score???

dann would be a great addition, but i still think we MUST sign a striker with clinical finishing ability(better than jas at least), otherwise i just dont see where the goals are going to come from

What a good signing this will be....Samba and Dann in the heart of our defence will be class!...we also need to sign a quality striker don't have a clue who that will be! Yakubu snubbed us but I don't like him anyway! Kalou, Macheda, Anelka, Sturridge one of them on loan deals would be good.....or someone like Pa***** Cisse permanently

We really need a new centre-back we lost Jones and we could lose Samba to Arsenal tomorrow Hopefully we will now be able to play a strong defence Solgado/Nelson/Dann on the right Dann/Neslon and Samba in centre and Olsson on the left anyway what happened to supposed Marcus Olsson signing a much needed forward I think

everything seems to b stationary on the transfer front, i m getting worried this will b it we wont sign anymore players, this scott dann transfer is looking more unlikely the longer it goes on, is not like we dont have competition for his services, and again PLEASE A STRIKER!!
