Hoffenheim confirm Rovers are in Ibisevic talks

Rovers are making brisk progress in their pursuit of striking reinforcement after German club Hoffenheim confirmed that they have given Rovers chiefs the go ahead to speak to their forward Vedad Ibisevic.

The Ibisevic link has been in the public domain now for a few weeks but his transfer has become a very tangible possibility after Rovers asked permission to speak to the player.

'Blackburn Rovers are keen on Vedad Ibisevic, the chances to see him move are fifty-fifty,' Hoffenheim general manager Ernst Tanner said to Sky Sports.

'We have still to agree a transfer fee, anyway they have been asking us on the allowance to pick up contract negotiations with the player.'

The fee is rumoured to be around the £3.5 million mark and if completed would mark Rovers sixth summer signing (after the George John transfer completion) with Simon Vukcevic, Radosav Petrovic, David Goodwillie and Bruno Ribeiro already in the bag.

For those wondering, Myles Anderson doesn't count.

SK must be pretty convinced about him.. he's not exactly prolific and he's actually injured at the moment.. and a bit too old to be "one for the future" but the glass is half full so you never know :D

Its one thing we can be very proud of, that is the scouting staff. Brilliant job so far and have faith in anyone he brings to the club

Still feel that we will need another striker if we sign him as he is still our for a month and then will need to build his fitness and match sharpness ip before he can make an impact.

FM lol - though to be honest I quite like the signings he has made, decent young players with first team experience.
