George John deal edges closer

George John deal edges closer

Rovers hope to complete the signing of defender George John by the end of this week at the very latest.

Rovers have agreed an undisclosed fee with John's current club FC Dallas believed to be in the region of 1 to 2 million pounds.

John has boarded a plane to Greece where he will pick up his Greek passport which means he will not need a work permit to play in England.

From Greece John will fly to England on Wednesday morning to discuss personal terms with Blackburn - which should not be a problem as John is on less than £1000 a week at Dallas.

Rovers hope to have John in the squad by the end of the week and he could well end up available for selection for Saturdays game against Everton at Ewood Park.

Good news I think! He looks a great bargain!
