'If It's Football, It's Vital'

A secret list? Really?

Well if you thought this summer was already a fairly weird one then it's about to take one more step in the zany direction after it has been revealed that Rovers have been sending out a document showing players wage breakdowns.

The players in question are the ones which Rovers are trying to actively sell - Keith Andrews, Vince Grella, Niko Kalinic and El Hadji Diouf are all featured.

The document has been sent around to clubs across Europe in an attempt to facilitate their sale.

The Daily Mirror have been quick off the mark in reporting the next in a wacky line of sales techniques. It seems we have a document to go alongside the Owen Hargreaves You Tube videos and the Michael Owen brochure.

The Mirror is reporting - 'The Indian owners Venkys are looking to slash £125,000-a-week from the payroll in a purge of the dressing room they inherited when they took over.

Mirror Sport has a copy of the sales brochure from Indian negotiator Krish Naidoo who has advised foreign agents and clubs to contact him.

The no-holds-barred document lists the salaries of the Rovers men, their appearance bonuses, signing-on fees, increases they are due and percentages to former clubs.

It is an attempt to hurry up exits to help bring in cash for new faces in a major turn-around after a slow summer of movement at Ewood Park.

Keith Andrews is on £21,000-a-week and an extra £2,000 for every game (good grief!). His wages also increase every time he plays five Premier League games - and an annual extra payment of £26,667.

MK Dons, who sold the Republic of Ireland international, are also entitled to 10 per cent of any profit over his purchase price of £1million.

Vince Grella is on a cool £30,000-a-week with a further £6,000 a game (Well at least we save cash with that clause). Blackburn are asking for a £500,000 loan fee if he goes - and all of his salary paid.

El Hadji Diouf - told he is unwanted by Kean - is also on £30,000 a week and a further £5,000 per game. West Ham would like to take him on loan but the demand is for his pay to be made in full to Rovers.

Even Nikola Kalinic is on the list. He is about to join Dnipro and is on the flat rate of £30,000 a week.'

I need a shower after reading that.

I hope some of those figures make you shudder like they do me?!

Extra money for playing?? What is the wage for then, just being available? I might ask my boss if I can have my wage just to be in work and then an extra amount per day if they actually want me to do work. I'll be down the job centre by lunchtime! Rude and not right.

Sounds like Nicko clutching at straws for a story tbh.

This would be the same Daily Mirror that also champions for MORE transparency regarding transfers and fees, etc.... ?
blarty
Bit hard to believe all this is accurate coming from The Mirror but if it is it's crazy.
ITSALLROVER
this has never happened to a club and i hope it's not true. more PR disaster for Venky though...
DommyWalker
Crazy crazy money - but it would be good to shift several thousand off the weekly wage bill.
rossp2112
Would you as a professional, sign for this incompetent bunch with the possibility that there might be another leak with your details on it. Needless to say it will be passed off as another communication problem, but Venkys are truly making themselves and Rovers look like Coco the clown and company.

Another PR mishap

I'm not surprised at ther wages - average premier amount. And Venky's trying to sell players who are not wanted, so I can see the sense in trying to promote them. Problem is we always get found out by the mirror or mail!

It may be asecret on paper, but you dnt have to be a brain surgeon to highlight whi Rovers would want off their wage bill, Another cheap shot from the Daily Mirror, Does this mean the Mirror now band from Ewood???

You guys will eat a lot of Chicken this season. You owners should be organizing a barbeque parties for the supporters after each game.
bluemillionaire
Bluemillionaire you should consider a career in stand up.
fransavarese
bluemillionaire - bbq chicken is a great perk at Ewood - if you guys ever came up to support your team against us, you'd know that.
freidelno.1
I must be at out next meeting at Ewood. I haven't tasted Chicken in a long while...What's that called again? ..Yeah.. Economic meltdown..right!
bluemillionaire
I'm sure that was funny when you thought it - shame these things don't always translate to the page...
