Vital Blackburn - Team Performance of the Season

With 38 games encompassing a whole season you would expect that we'd turn in at least one performance that leaves the fans salivating.... unless your THAT Derby team from a few years back.

With this award we voted on what was the best Blackburn Rovers team performance of the season and to be a fair a few performances were worthy of a mention.

The brave effort in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United scored a few votes as did the do or die 1-0 victory over Bolton in the relegation run in.

But the winner just outstripped the final day super show against Wolves which was always going to be a high spot in the rankings after storming into a 3-0 lead away from home.

But the winner of the Vital Blackburn Rovers Team Performance of the Season is... The 3-1 victory over Liverpool at Ewood Park.

Hard to argue with this one as Ryan Nelsen and Chris Samba were like beasts in defence and Benjani managed to bag two goals in his best Rovers showing.

And with Martin Olsson and Junior Hoilett given their first chance to pair on the wings it turned into the Hoilett and Olsson show.

The press made a big thing about how poor Liverpool were but that was just a load of reactionary nonsense. Rovers were just better than them and MADE them look poor.
