Goodwillie due in for Rovers medical

Rovers are set to add a striker to the ranks with the news that a fee has been agreed for highly rated Dundee United striker David Goodwillie.

The fantastically named individual is now due in at Ewood for a medical in due course after a £2 million fee + add ons was agreed between the clubs.

The Lancashire Telegraph is reporting - 'David Goodwillie is expected to undergo a medical at Blackburn Rovers today - after a bid was accepted for the Scottish international.

Rovers are understood to be ready to pay a fee totalling £2.8million after add ons, after a bid was accepted late last night.

Reports came out of Scotland late last night and Rovers sources have now confirmed to the Lancashire Telegraph.'

It's hit a snag apparently. Can't say much more right now.

Do we ever, EVER have a simple transfer any more?!

Kean "At this second, I don't think any bids we've got out there have been accepted"

One report now says that Dundee have not yet given the player permission to speak to any club! Strange how so many reports yesterday said that he was due at Ewood for a medical if this is the case. Suspect someone is trying to increase the fee or other cut. If it's the club realising that they have a more profitable player than they had first thought, fare enough, Rovers would probably do the same. If it's an agents fee, someone should have a quiet word with the player and point out to him that his agent is risking the offer being withdrawn. Most agents are too bloody greedy, they are the scourge of the transfer system, regulators need to tighten things up.

It's official... bid accepted by Dundee United, player to discuss terms!

SPL commentator on 5Live just said that Blackburn fans can look forward to what Goodwillie has to offer - he's strong, cocky and rarely injured. Or words to that effect. Sounds good!

Great player if we can get him. Loads of goal's in him.

What's the snag??

It has been reported the snag was that the player is entitled to 10% of fee and is looking for Dundee Utd to pay this upfront, which they were stalling on , but are now willing to do.

15 hour round trip on successive days? What has he gone home for to sleep? Think we may just live to regret allowing Kean to go India again, Bad timing and bad management to allow the manager not being here jeapardise a deal
