Vital Blackburn - Midfielder of the Season

Midfield is always a part of the field where the squad gets clogged up.

With Rovers having their fair share of midfield players there was plenty of choice for our award for the Midfielder of the Season.

Keith Andrews, David Dunn, Jermaine Jones, Steve N'Zonzi, Junior Hoilett, Brett Emerton, Martin Olsson, Morten Gamst Pedersen, Jason Lowe, Herold Goulon and er, Vince Grella were all present in the Rovers midfield at some point during the 2010/11 season so the options were wide open.

But despite the odd vote for David Dunn and Jermaine Jones for his effort towards the end of the season the award came down to a straight battle between our two young prodigies.

Left winger Martin Olsson has been a star since moving up from left back and has made the left attacking spot his own with some dynamic displays and over on the other wing Junior Hoilett has been one of the Premier League's breakout stars with some relegation avoiding displays making him an automatic pick.

It was close and both got some considerable backing but the winner of the Vital Blackburn Midfielder of the Season award is... Junior Hoilett.

Well done young man, now, has anyone got a pen?

Well deserved. Get the contract signed then we can terrify all the PL defenses with him, Olsson and Rochina :D!
