Rovers have shirt sponsorship in hand

Rovers may be without a sponsor for the time being but the matter is expected to be resolved within the next few weeks.

The club has not been in a position before where the home shirt has been without a sponsor with the season only being a month away but talks with various prospective clients are under way.

Venky's have been in talks, mainly with Indian companies to solve the problem and see the matter coming to a close soon.

A statement on the Official Rovers Website reads - 'There appears to be a keen interest and eagerness among the Blackburn Rovers fans as to who will be the new sponsors of the BRFC shirts for the new season.

The BRFC management is currently in the process of exploring various options and discussing with some of the potential sponsors, including reputed companies in India.

A decision will be taken and the name of the new sponsor announced in a couple of weeks.'

Man we need to get this sorted ASAP, it shouldn't have been dragged out...

It seems everything will happen in a couple of weeks.

Remind me when does the season start ?! Best tell venkys the time difference between uk and India :)

Like Durks says. Since the season ended, everything will happen "within the next few weeks". Wonder how long one week is in India?

Nowt like leaving it til the last minute! My money is on COBRA beer, should look ok on a shirt as well. Otherwise i reckon it will end up just Venky's if nothing get's agreed.

Not too kean on the away shirt TBH... Looks like they're all wearing yellow bibs on black t-shirts, either that or something a REF would wear. You can't beat red & black stripes/halves for me.

I presume there's something in the financial fair play rules that prevents Venky's from sponsoring us a la Etihad and City. Not that we'll be getting into Europe any time soon....

Another Venky's balls up!
