Doran to join Caley Thistle

Rovers winger Aaron Doran is set to leave the club after agreeing terms with his loan club from the second half of last season.

Doran was once earmarked as a very promising Rovers player after his debut for Rovers back in 2009.

But Doran has been phased out with the emergence of Junior Hoilett and Martin Olsson at the club and his chances of making an impression in the first team have been limited to say the least.

So he's off to Inverness Caley Thistle where he made a big impression from January and he has agreed a 2 year deal.

Sports News Ireland is reporting - 'Doran has agreed a two-year contract and reportedly turned down moves to Motherwell, Aberdeen and St Johnstone who were all interested in his services.'

Shame not to see Aaron make the grade at the club but pleased he is finding joy elsewhere.

Shame to see Aaron go, he always has a bit of promise about him!

Never pushed on from his initail appearances for the club, and best he moves, will be a good player in Scotland, just not quite upto the quality required for the English Prem

Shame but with Hoilett and Olsson, Pedersen, Emo and Diouffy (wherever he is) on the wings he would struggle to get any game time anyway. Best of luck for the lad in the future.

Good luck to him, and full credit to our youth system for turning out another player capable of playing professionally at a decent level.

maybe not up to the level, but youth system as rossp says, another good indication of the quality of our acadamy
