Venky's re-affirm commitment to Rovers

The Indian owners of Blackburn Rovers have put to bed rumours that were circulating that they were secretly trying to sell the club.

Venky's have confirmed that they are in the lives of Blackburn Rovers for the long haul and that are as passionate about the success of the side and they aim to grow the club steadily and through sustained investment.

Rumours had been circulating, rather absurdly, on certain websites (we won't name them let's not embarrass them) that the owners were having second thoughts less than a year after buying the club off the Walker Trust but this has been laughed off as the utter tripe that it always was.

A statement given by Venky's to the Lancashire telegraph read - 'Blackburn Rovers football club would like to assure all supporters that the owners (Venky's) remain as passionate and committed to the club as ever.

'The owners vehemently refute any suggestions to the contrary and are continuing to work hard to push the club forward through a strategy based around systematic growth.'

Let's move on.

Glad to see this silly thing put to bed... happy days, on we go.

Totally agree, there is enough nefativity without rumours adding more fuel to it. Onwards and forwards

We just all need to give them a break and get behind our team and give them our full support.
