'If It's Football, It's Vital'

The Ronaldinho Saga... Part 2

Wake up on Monday morning and you expect to have some uplifting news to power you through the day.

But in Rovers land, it's fairytale time with news this morning that Steve Kean is weighing up a move for former Seville and current Sao Paolo and Brazil star Luis Fabiano.

Quite how Kean is planning to persuade Luis to swap the tropical climate of Brazil for the brass monkey's existence of Blackburn is one of life's many great questions.

But it looks like he is going to try.

The Daily Mail is reporting - 'Blackburn boss Steve Kean is exploring an ambitious move for Brazilian striker Luis Fabiano.

The Ewood Park chief wants a big name to help attract other players to the club, but may face a hard sell to convince the 30-year-old former Tottenham target to move from Sao Paolo.'

If Kean can pull it off then he really is the greatest salesman of the 21st Century.

All seems a bit far fetched doesn't it?!

It's now pre season and we need to make 4-5 good signings, I'm starting to get nervous again as we're making no progress and it's just roumers or rejection so far. With players like Scot Dann, Roger Johnson, Charlie Adaim and Scott Parker still available im gob smacked that we arnt trying to sign them up. Even the likes of Huntelaar who has said he wants to join the EPL and had no offers? Why arnt we trying to sign a striker who wants to come here? I'll give them time but it's not looking good...

Kean or Venky's don't have the pulling power. Big name players will only come to us if we pay them a fortune - then we'll be questioning if their heart is really in it. We need to buy some solid players who want to play for us - get up the league then start to attract better players. Without European football top players will not join us.

Apparently he's been injured quite a lot so could be a total waste of money. It is getting a little frustratiing to see we haven't signed anybody yet but most clubs seem to be trying to get rid of the deadwood players off their wage bills to fall in line with the new uefa regulations.

I'm with you on that FN1... and Marshin - Quality and solid players are what we need!

I'm another not at all convinced by this. Get some proper Prem players in, not has-been superstars.

Lets hope that we can't attract Fabiano. You are right ITSALLROVER, he sounds like one to keep the treatment table warm. Sao Paulo bought him in March "he has yet to play for the club, following a series of injuries". + He is 30 years old. The other worry is an ulterior motive by Venkys for buying South Americans "to further their business contacts in South America"

I'd like to see a sneaky bid for Joe Cole to take over the Dunn role. Obviously need a few more players but we have to start looking at good players but not these pie-in-the-sky superstars.

Nowhere near the player he was and is nothing more than a far fetched media stunt anyway. Does anyone really think anyone of signicant profile stature if really going to sign this summer?!?!
