Vital Blackburn - The Signing of the Season

Over the next two weeks the end of season Vital Blackburn awards that YOU have been voting for will be dished out.

There are a fair few categories with some very deserved accolades to be handed out and we start with a new category for this season's awards.

The signing of the season.

With Benjani, Mame Biram Diouf, Ruben Rochina, Mauro Formica (yes he still counts) and Roque Santa Cruz bought in there were a fair few names to pick from but the VBers have decided the winner is...

Jermaine Jones.

And in truth it wasn't even close with every vote bar one plumping for the on-loan Schalke man who we will hopefully be seeing more of in the future.

After a slow and somewhat non-descript start the big American started to show his true class in the heart of the midfield with our trip to the Emirates being his first big performance.

After that he never took his foot off the gas and ended the season a firm favourite with the fans and with most clamouring for his permanent signature ahead of next season.

Well done Jermaine, our signing of the season.

Well done to Jermaine for this one - perhaps he should put himself in contention for next season as well?

haha if he signs, we'll let him win it twice

Worthy winner - we should've bought him by now as well!

Shame we'll not bring JJ back, or will we??

Surely when he sees he's won here he'll sign straight away! :)

Deserved winner, I also hope he comes back, though it doesn't look likely at the moment, whatever happens JJ thanks for all your efforts last season.
