'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kalinic poses the big question

The future of Croatian football could be the future of somewhere else if he doesn't get a game soon - according to those pesky agents.

Kalinic was a total afterthought towards the end of the last campaign as he sat out the important games in the Rovers run in with Jason Roberts, Benjani and Roque Santa Cruz all preferred up front.

But Kalinic's agent has admitted that if the current train of thought regards his squad role continues then he will be forced to look elsewhere.

'We want to talk to the coach as soon as possible so we know what happens next' Kalinic's agent Tomislav Erceg told Sky Sports News.

'Nikola is contracted to Blackburn but there are a lot of clubs who we believe would want him.'

'He needs to know if he is going to play for Blackburn first though. There is no problem with the club and if they want him to stay he will stay.'

Agent talk or valid point?

I just can't understand why he is being left out? Attitude problem? Only thing I can think of...

I'm not sure - he seems like a good player, one for the future, I can't understand why we would want to off load him. In my opinion Smaba and Diuf (big one!) showed a bad attitude - with wanting to leave and unprofessionalism, respectively. What has Kalanic done? I've not heard him moan to the press or seen him out on the town. Considering he scored more than all the other strikers last season and was left out, something must be up.

Another that will be leaving this summer and one we'll regret letting go!!

I'm not sure there's many who do understand why Niko hasn't been playing. In the away game at west brom, on one of the very few occasions where he had a strike partner, he played brilliantly (even though the strike partner in question was Roque!) - at least until he got sent off. He's the best we have by a country mile and there should be no question about his staying or going because he ought to be playing week in week out.

It was very frustrating watching Roque play like a non- league player and still start every game when Niko was warming the bench if he was lucky to even get in the squad. I hope we can keep him at the club. Kean should replace all the other strikers and just keep Niko IMO. We've invested £6m and we won't get that for him now anyway so why sell him?

valid point!

Kean strikes me as a very stubborn man - once he sets his mind to something nobody can change him.

Will be big loss on player who will prob be going out on loan

Kean said Niko's attitude after coming back from internationals wasn't right? Well in all fairness if was going to play at international level for a nation that has stopped England from qualifying from the last euro's and was scoring everytime i played I would have an attitude as well sitting on the bench! only goalscorer we have just don't understand?
