'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Zimbabwe's finest to return

Despite the stop start nature of the last campaign it seems that Benjani is once again due back at Blackburn Rovers for the 2011/2012 campaign.

Steve Kean had admitted he wanted the Zimbabwean back at the club for next season after impressing towards the end of last season but confusion kicked in when Benji made it onto the official 'Premier League free transfers' list.

But fear not, the uncertainty is over.

Benjani told Sky Sports - "Yes, yes, I will be back at Blackburn Rovers again next season. I think the deal will be finalised in the next few days and then I can look forward to doing my best with the club.

"I don`t know if there were other clubs who wanted me because I always wanted to come back to Blackburn. I hope that will be sorted now."

And yet Kalinic is set to leave the club?

This is fine with me as a fourth choice sort of a thing...

Surely if we keep Benji - we must keep Kalinic!

Keeping Benjani (who will work hard granted when used) but letting Kalinic go?? That leaves me speechless.

Nothing wrong with keeping Benjani as an occasional "play when needed" type. Works hard and occasionally comes up with the goods - anyone remember the Liverpool match? However, the priority has to be to get Kalinic's situation sorted out.

Nowt against Benjani he seems happy to be an impact player but i'm starting to fear we're going to end up with the same LIMP strike force as last season... Possibly without Niko, who to me should be the one worth keeping for the future.
ITSALLROVER
Ha! Yep, LIMP alright - if we lose Niko, we won't have any strikers! At least I hope they buy a couple of strikers in before they let him go - otherwise we could get shafted!

Champions league? You're havin a laugh. We're telling Samba that we want to match his ambitions, then saying champions league in 3 or 4 years, and then re-signing Benjani? Getting some mixed signals here unless Kean meant championship. Benjani is a waste of a contract. An impact player?? When?! He's a slower, less clinical version of JR and that is saying something. The JR and Benjani strike partnership was a joke, and now Kalinic might go? It's beyond belief!
Citizen Kean
Keeping a player so he can have a full Visa??? Shud of got him a British wife, would of been much cheaper
