'If It's Football, It's Vital'

JJ's future is up in the air

Jermaine Jones has admitted that he is still unsure over where he will be playing football next season but has fond memories of his time at Rovers.

Those memories may yet be enough to tempt JJ back to the club on a full time basis and he has given a couple of cryptic clues that he wants the move himself.

JJ told the Lancashire Telegraph - "It was a good, good time for me.'

"I have a lot of new friends, they are very nice people and now I need to look at what happens.

"My team in Germany say I come back and we need to look at what happens.

"My agent knows what I want and I was talking with him.

"For me my next concentration is the Gold Cup and the other stuff is for Blackburn, Schalke and my agent, and we`ll see what happens. Everything can happen.

"I was at Blackburn for six months and I made the focus of this six months to help them.

"Now it is finished, we`re safe and everybody is happy, so now it is my focus to win the Gold Cup with America.

"I was talking with Steve Kean, we stay in contact and he needs to talk with the owner and all that stuff.

"We will stay in contact but my concentration is the Gold Cup.

"I have a contract in Schalke for three years and this is the first thing.

"The other stuff I let my agent sort out and then look what happens."

And regardless of whether he is a Rover not next season, Jones is pretty sure that a bright future lays ahead for the lads in Blue and White.

JJ continued - "They have a lot of good players and I think the time is coming.'

"They want to change something and maybe next season is the time to do it.

"Then I think they don`t fight to stay in the league.

"The whole team has big quality. You have Junior Hoilett, Martin Olsson, Phil Jones (ssshhhh just keep reading), a lot of young players.

"They are young and they need time to grow up, but when they have that time this team is a really good team.

"Their big years will come in the next year or two years, and then you have really great players in the Premier League.'

Top class player, lets hope they don't want him back at Schalke!!
Rover_since74
I like the phrase "we are safe" not they are safe. Shows he feels part of the team? Lets hope he stays part of the team.

JJ does give the impression that he wants to be a part of things here next season, however, sorting out a deal could be easier said than done??

I would be glad to see him back. Sounds like he would be happy to sign as well, lets hope Schalke don't pull our pants down ovet the asking price.
ITSALLROVER
seems happy enough, would love to sign him but it seems he's made up his mind already ""My agent knows what I want and I was talking with him"
retroflair31
We need to get JJ back on a permanent deal, and quick .If we stall on this and we sell Phil Jones for 16m + ,then Shalke will start asking for silly money.
Bingle9
Silly money is rife in football these days so I suspect this is what they'll be asking anyway??
Walker
Getting JJ back would be a very good bit of news and a good bit of business just when we need it.
