'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Thank you Tom Finn

Long serving Blackburn Rovers employee Tom Finn has left the club today after 15 years at the helm.

Finn can be mentioned in the same breath as recently departed Chairman John Williams in terms of contribution to Rovers and has been integral to the sustained run in the Premier League the club has enjoyed over the last ten years.

Finn has occupied a few position at Blackburn over his long spell at the club and most recently held the position of Managing Director.

But with new owners in place and Venly's looking to put their own stamp on how things are run Tom has decided it is time to move on with new Deputy Chief Executive Paul Hunt starting in his position this week.

Tom's statement on rovers.co.uk says - 'Whilst sad to be moving on, I believe the time is right for me and the Club. The owners are putting in place their plans for how the Club is to operate going forward, such as the appointment of Paul Hunt who joins the Club this week. I have told Paul that he is joining a special football club that is an integral part of its local community.

'Blackburn Rovers might not enjoy the fanbase of some of its Premier League rivals, but no one should doubt the supporters' passion and commitment for their club. I have thoroughly enjoyed being part of that for the past 15 years, have had fantastic support from the staff at Ewood Park and Brockhall and wish the owners and everyone associated with Blackburn Rovers all success in the future.'

Let me be the first at Vital Blackburn to wish Tom Finn a very successful future in everything he does.

His excellent efforts at Rovers will not go unrecognised.

Thank you Tom.

More change at the club, I hope we're going in the right direction and there's at least one person who knows how to run a football club behind the scenes.

I know the club has to move forward, but surely we can do that with SOME continued prsence from the board that guided us through the hard times. Big thanks to Tom for everything he's done - I just hope that whoever comes in has somewhere close to his ability and commitment.

Worries me that all ties to true Rovers people with this in their blood are being shipped out. I understand we need change but we need some old blood left!!
