Is Kean at the centre of a Rao tug of war?

Steve Kean could be in the middle of a tug of war over his future as Rovers manager with a leading British newspaper suggesting that the Rao family are split over the course they should take.

On one side you have the brothers Balaji and Venkatesh Rao who are after a more exprienced head to avoid a repeat of last season's problems.

And on the other side there is Anuradha Desai who is firmly behind Kean's attempts to lead a new era at Rovers.

The Sunday People is reporting - 'Steve Kean is at the centre of a family row between Blackburn`s owners.

Anuradha Desai, chairwoman of the Venky`s Group, is backing the Scot to remain in charge after leading Rovers to Premier League safety on the final day of the season.

But her brothers, Balaji and Venkatesh Rao, are believed to be less convinced about Kean.

The Blackburn co-owners are thought to want a more experienced manager at Ewood Park.'

We have of course heard this before so shouldn't take it as gospel what is being reported but what is the old saying...

Interesting stuff but when will the re-tractive Venky's statement make an appearance?!

Interesting what will happen here. Thought the Venkys was happy with Kean, especially after Faxe got a new contact. Can Kean decide himself how he wants to hire as an assistant manager? Thought it had to go through a sportsdirector or something, but we might not have one right....cheers

Oh well, I agree no smoke without fire, Maybe Venkys have recovered from the bump on the head which had them give egg head the job in the first place

If they were going to sack him you would think they would've done it already but you just never know with the Venky's. They might as well let him have a go now IMO but if they are giving him the chop I hope this time they have a decent manager lined up already.

it's good to hear that the owners are not totally dumb...

Kean is atrocious as a manager, we had our worst run in 30 years, failed consistently to beat the bottom teams, and were left fighting for survival on the last day of the season and he rounded it off with a police record for drink driving, how doers any of that make him suitable to lead the blues into next season? He frequently treated the fans like morons, young Anderson the next Chris Smalling, we played well at Everton etc. I despise this clown with a passion and will sack my ST if he is still in charge next season. I cannot watch that wretch in charge of my team any longer.

how do we save some face and get a new manager without doing another turn-about? lets pretend there's a family row about it from the ones who didn't say anything on the appointment so we can spin this!

The only way to get rid of Kean now without another major PR cock-up is for us to have a poor start to next season then they have a valid reason to replace him. Not sure we'll see much different from him next season than we have this, however, we improved towards the end of the season when it really, really mattered.
