'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kean - We want to keep JJ

Rovers boss Steve Kean has had a little taste of Jermaine Jones for 5 months and has decided he wants to east the whole pie and buy him full time.

JJ started off slow at the club but he has been akin to a beast in recent weeks and Kean is trying to sit down and get his parent club Schalke to talk over a permanent move.

Rovers boss told rovers.co.uk - 'When you look at the game against Wolves it looked like it was the Jermaine Jones twins out there.'

'It looked like there were two of him on the pitch at times, one sitting deep, the other one three seconds later in the opposing box.

'That is what he has got and if we can keep him in the club beyond this season will be fantastic.'

'We'll sit down with Schalke in the next couple of weeks and hopefully we can do that as he has been outstanding.

'Jermaine is happy here, his kids are in school and hopefully he'll see what we have done here and we can get him on the books.'

I would love him full time, I am totally sold on the idea.

he and nzonzi have formed a formidable partnership...a keeper...huge step up fron andrews and grella

I agree he must be signed, the only worry i have with him and Nzonzi in centre midfield despite them being great together, is it takes away the opportunity of having a creative player in centre mid unless we play 1 up front

I would be happy to see him sign. He looked a bit off the pace at first but by the end of the season he was firing on all cylinders. With a full pre-season under his belt he could be even better next season. We need to free up some wages and offload Grella and Andrews though let's face it.

Got to be done. What a player this fella is. If getting lads like him in is a result of Kentaro/SEM's involvement, then maybe it's not all bad?
