Kean to go all in on Samba fitness

Steve Kean is ready to gamble on the fitness of Chris Samba and play him in the 'Survival Sunday' fixture, the do or die clash with Wolves at Molineux.

Samba has been nothing short of colossal in the season run in but managed to pick up strains to his groin and hamstring in the brave 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

But even though he may be touch and go it is known that Samba is desperate to play and Rovers will need him out there such is his influence as captain of the side.

Kean told Sky Sports (presumably sober) - 'Samba felt his groin first, but stayed on and then his hamstring tightened.'

'But if there is a chance that the big fella can play he'll be dying to get out there.

'You take risks in games like this. If we can take a risk on him then we will.'

I am normally against playing half fit players but with Samba I agree, let's make an exception.

I would line up ideally as - Robbo, Salgado, Samba, P Jones, Givet (good grief), Hoilett, Zonz, JJ, Emo, Olsson, Roberts

Samba has been immense recently. Has to play.

It is a big risk, especially as Wolves are scoring at the moment. I wouldn't take the risk unless Samba said he was fully fit.

I see it this way; if his isnt 100% and we sub him on and he gets injured thats a waste of 2 subs. If he starts and pull up thats 1 sub sacrificed. If he is gambled upon he needs to start. Otherwise just don't use him at all. I think he has been fantastic lately and we need his desire and drive.

use and abuse him before he clears off in the summer, whilst he has been awesome this year, I think a lot of that has to do with him putting himself in the shop window, he's made no secret of the fact that he wants bigger and better.
