Fielding leaves Ewood for Pride Park

Goalkeeper Frank Fielding has sealed a permanent move to Derby County after finally moving from Rovers on a more permanent basis.

Fielding has been on loan at Championship club Derby County this season playing alongside ex-Rover Robbie Savage and has now decided at the age of 23 to move away from Ewood Park.

Frank has had his progress up the first team ranks blocked in recent years and would have struggled to break into the first team in the next few years due to form and relative youth of Paul Robinson.

He has been on loan at Rochdale and Derby among others in recent seasons.

Derby have signed Frankie for an 'undisclosed fee'. We send our best wishes to Frank in his future career as he has always been a Blackburn lad having come from the academy and he comes Brad Friedel recommended.

Good luck Frank Fielding.

Sad day as I didn't want to lose Fran but he has more chance of games elsewhere. In other news, does anyone else "undisclosed fees?!"

was rumoured to be around £400k mate, not too pleased we have a let a good prospect leave, reminds me so much of when Given left and we all know what happened there. Good luck to Frankie though, i'm sure this move will kick start his career domestically and help him move all the way to full international honours

Can't believe it - I wrote about this happening just the other day! No question - Robbo is our number one, but what about if he leaves? What then? Good luck to Frankie - to be fair, he's stuck around for a long, long time and could probably have gone earlier.

What a shame, this could be Shay Given all over again!

A real shame, we've let so many prospects slip through over the years and he could turn out to be the next. At 23 he needs to start playing regular though and we couldn't offer him that so fair play to him and I hope he does well.
