JJ may stay at Ewood

Rovers boss Steve Kean has expressed his desperation to keep hold of midfielder Jermaine Jones who as things stand has 3 games left at the club.

JJ was signed by Kean in January on loan from Champions League semi finalists Schalke 04 but was unable to fix a price with his parent club.

However that has not deterred Kean who would be very happy to sign JJ on a longer term contract.

Kean told Sky Sports - 'We are desperate to keep Jermaine and he wants to stay. Like when Roque was signed we tried to fix a price with Schalke but we couldn't so we got an agreement until the end of the season'

'If we can do some big business then hopefully he is going to be a Blackburn Rovers player when we come back.

'He is only a loan player and might be going back to Schalke but he would have died for the points and was well worthy of man of the match.

'Jermaine has been in this form for a number of weeks. He has gradually got better. It took him the first couple of weeks to get to grips with the Barclays Premier League but at times it looked as though there were two of them in there.'

More performances like the ones seen at the weekend and at the Emirates a few weeks back and he will be more than welcome to stay longer than May!

I have been torn on whether this would be a good idea but at the moment I would say he would make a good permanent addition.

I don't think everyone will agree we should sign him but I for one do. He has been improving a lot over the past few games and I think we are seeing more of what he is capable of. He can get forward when needed and really adds steel to the midfield.

After a slow start he has improved game upon game, he is now the strongest central midfield player in the side, and was the best player on the park Saturday by a long way. I hope we keep him and lose Kean 8-))

And he doesn't get injured every second week.

Depends on the transfer value for me, on form and fitness i would take JJ for a permanent switch over Roque. I never thought it was a good idea taking him back and was glad it was just a loan in the end. got enough injury prones to ship out already.

i think if we release a few of our other dm's who are injury prone and sign this guy will be a good move. im not a big fan but he does have quality that the others dont. plus he doesnt get injured after being hit by a fly. which is a plus :)

sell the jogger for 2.5 million, Goulon for 1 million and Diouf for 3 million. Buy jj and Kahlenberg for 10. Steel and creativity for 3.5 million. Wishful thinking perhaps

Definitely needs to be signed. Most players take a while to get used to the Prem - Jones took just a few weeks coming into a struggling side.
