Liverpool join Jones suitors

Seems like Phil Jones is a man in demand as it turns out that old Rovers boss Kenny Dalglish was at the game on Monday night to see the England Under 21 man turn in another cracking shift in the Rovers side.

Jones has been followed closely in the past by Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs but the rags are now suggesting Liverpool are keen and the figures being bandied about is £15 million.

Superman is still in his teens but his performances have been nothing short of awesome for a struggling Rovers side and he has been tipped for an appearance in the full England side in the near future.

The bonus for Rovers, who are known to being determined to hold onto one of their prize assets is that the young man recently signed a deal that will keep him at Ewood Park till 2016.

Which means any side serious on taking him off our hands better come armed with a truck load of cash.

£15 million should be a starting bid in my opinion!!!
Mikey Delap
I agree Mikey, £15 MILLION IS PENNIES , if Carroll went for £35 Million we dshould be wanting something similar for Jones

Very good player IMO , very rare to find a cb who is as comfortable and confident on the ball as he is, needs to join spurs and learn from the master Ledley king
spurs-stelios
If David luiz cost chelsea 25m Euros and Gary Cahill will be sold for about 15m / 20m can't see ya getting more than £15m for him

Surely Phil Jones wouldn't consider anfield, any of the others are better options, but if he does go lets make sure we take as much of the carroll money as possible. With the display on monday Phil has added a few million to his price tag??

Has anyone considered he might be happy at Rovers?!
Mikey Delap
And learn what from Ledley King?! How to get injured every 25 minutes?! lol ;)

I would sooner keep him than take £15m. As long as the Venky's put money in for new players like they said they would we shouldn't be seen to be a selling club anymore. We should be building the club around our young talent with Mr Jones and Hoillett, Hanley, Rochina, Olsson etc. Hope he's happy to carry on wearing the blue & white.

£35 million for Jones who has just turned 19 and a Prem Regurlar, whilst can play equally as well in centre midifeld as he can in defence, Future England captain its a snip, But don't think he will be going anywhere soon, he is happy at Rovers, just signed a new contract and is enjoying it at Rovers
glen9mullan
Why would he go to Liverpool/Spurs/Arsenal? Hes more likely to win more at Rovers.. either the Championship or Play off final next year ;)
rover23
do u think he wants to play in the championship next year u ll be looking at a massive clear out robbo man u or the gunners samba arsenel jones man u givet back to france nzonia salgado to go back to spain or even italy olsen to everton gamst to everton or villa and hoilett to italy and kalnic to villa altogether blackburn to make 50million give or take plus the sell of are rights of the stadium ewood park being changed to the kfc and still u ask the question HAVE WE GOT ENOUGH TO STAY UP and 73% yes are u ******** kidding me we dont even look like scoring dont mind winning a game

The talent of Jones - and the other young lads - is not only one of the main reasons we still stand a chance of staying up, but is one of the biggest motivators for the club too. It would be so hard to hold on to Phil, Junior, Olsson and N'Zonzi in the Championship. And no amount of money thrown at the club by Venky's would get us players to replace those that we have brought through ourselves. The young players who are coming through are the heart, soul and future of the club. Rovers in the Prem, with a bit of spending over the summer, can hold on to all of them. Rovers in the Championship become a shopping centre for teams wanting to pick off young talent.

pointless to talk about transfer until we secure our top flight status...
