'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Look who's left the Hammers?

further evidence that the best £2 million the club has ever received was from the sale of Benni McCarthy to West Ham has been received with the late night news that the club and the player have agreed to part ways.

Quite how Benni managed to score £1.5 million for 14 goalless games just over a season's work remains to be seen but this ends a nightmare spell for the former Rovers striker.

A statement on West Ham's website read - 'West Ham United have mutually agreed with Benni McCarthy to part company with immediate effect.'

'The club would like to wish Benni well for the future.'

I wonder if McCarthy considers his monster hissy fit to force a move from Ewood Park worth it?

£6.7 million it has cost the Hammers to employ McCarthy from start to finish...

With all that dough he got, i bet he is laughing all the way to the bank especially as he didnt earn it by playing

Your hapiness wil be short lived when Venky's force Kean to re-sign him in the summer.

Shame he couldn't stay off the pies and get fit, we could use his goals at the moment.
ITSALLROVER
is Kean on that as well?

i'd take a bacon buttie munhcing McCarthy over most of the deadwood strikers we have, short term deal for 6 games anyone?
glen9mullan

One great season. And it was a GREAT season. The decision to sell now looks to be the stuff of genius, which is a shame because at the top of his game he really was something. Just seen him on SkySports saying he put the weight on because he was injured at West Ham. Which is odd - he was already having problems when he left us. We're better off without.
