'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kean reveals escapism is the way forward

Steve Kean has revealed that Brockhall is escape area of choice when it comes to relieving himself of the pressures of the Rovers scrap.

Kean has given a little look into his psyche and the over analysis that can plague his mental state.

Kean spoke to Sky Sports News and said - 'I find my escape on the training ground when we do sessions'

'It is difficult if you don't get a result and you are at home looking at the table or analysing what you would have done differently.

'You start looking at every player and giving them a mark out of 10 or asking whether your substitutions were right or could you have done something different.

'But if it has been positive you can't not analyse it then, you have to say 'Why did that work?' and continue to improve on it.

'That's why I think my release is always back on the training ground.'

But ahead of the vital clash with Birmingham on Saturday the Rovers boss feels positive

hat the lads are in good shape (both physically and mentally)and are looking forward to the game.

Kean added - 'We are feeling very positive because of the manner in which we got the point'

'We went down to 10 men and asked the players on the pitch to do their own job and a bit of Steven's and we saw a record amount of sprint distances in our statistics.

'Our squad is healthy at the moment: we have one suspension because of N'Zonzi's red card at Arsenal so we want to keep those numbers available.

'The lads know about not getting sent off. (thank god for that)'.

Maybe wrong to be so harsh but yet more proof Kean is a training ground coach not a manager.
