Massive shock as Vince ruled out for the season

Rovers midfielder Vince Grella has been ruled out of the remainder of the 2010/11 Premier League season with injury.

Vince, who is now Australia's version of Jamie Redknapp and Darren Anderton combined has been injured on and off ever since he rocked up to England in 2008.

But Kean confirmed the worst this afternoon.

Blackburn boss Steve Kean told the BBC - 'It's been hard for Vinny because he's picked up niggly injuries and this has been quite a big operation on his Achilles.'

OH. DEAR.

well my mouth is struggling to close again with shock!! lol... on a serious note I think it's a shame he hasn't stayed fit long enough to find out whether he's any good. he should start a facebook group and get the likes of Owen Hargreaves, Croque Santa Cruz and veterans like Redknapp and Anderton to join.

An absolute waste of money that we can ill afford, why didn't they sell him last summer? Guess he keeps Dunny company

I hardly think he will be missed. He has hardly ever played since he came. A complete waste of a wage.

The operation was the actual removal of the plantaris muscle.....what i find hard to understand is this muscle has been the cause of injuries over the last 2 seasons, having a triggereing effect on the nervous system, twitching the groin and hamstring muscles.... why on earth was the plantaris not removed earlier....it is a useless muscle, and is naturally absent in 10% of people....arghh....guess he will be out in the summer! bye bye vinny :-(

I wanted him to do well but this guy makes Steven Reid look like an everpresent in his time at Rovers. Time to go.
