Off on Lowe-n to Oldham

Rovers up and comer Jason Lowe has joined League One boys Oldham Athletic on loan until May to gain some much needed first team experience.

Paul Dickov is the current boss of the Latics and had no hesitation in picking up the phone to ring his former place of work to borrow someone with a good future.

Lowe has been in the Rovers side a few times this year and even got on to strut his stuff against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and played in the FA Cup tie against QPR when El Hadji Diouf and Neil Warnock became such good mates.

Lowe has recently penned a deal that will keep him at Ewood Park until 2013 and has even made his way up the England ranks.

This should be viewed as a good move for Lowe as it is the next step up.

Send them out on loan early on in their careers to toughen them up in the Football League, bring them back stronger and then give them games with Rovers. A good move for all.
