Rovers on the Bendtner trail

Rovers on the Bendtner trail

Rovers may be in a relegation battle but that still hasn't stopped the rumour mill warming up and this morning's main bit of Rovers gossip is that Venky's are plotting a Nicklas Bendtner swoop.

He who certainly seems to fancy himself a bit has been on the outskirts of the Arsenal first team this season but whether Bendtner would consider the move seems debatable.

Some figures are bandied about - £15 million transfer fee, decent sized wages.

The Daily Mail is reporting - 'Real Madrid's Kaka has been mooted recently, following their ambitious attempts to lure Ronaldinho and David Beckham, but Bendtner is seen as a more realistic target.

A quality Premier League striker tops their wish-list and Rovers have the funds to pay a £15million transfer fee and tempt Bendtner with big wages.

The main problem will be whether the Dane is interested in quitting Arsenal for one of the Premier League's less glamorous clubs.'

Never gonna happen this one let's face it. He isn't worth that amount (we all know he thinks he is) and with his ego he wouldn't want to play for a club like Blackburn. Maybe Vela would be a more realistic target with a big signing coming from abroad.

He is a worse finisher than Roberts, without Roberts work ethic, ego the size of a bus so he will think he's way too good for us. That suits me as I think he would be an awful buy.

We have plenty of hardworking non-scoring strikers already. Would surely be better to get a speedy goal scorer to play alongside Kalanic/Roberts/Benjani (and Santa if we keep him). Maybe test Sunderland and their finance worries with £15m for Gyan or Sturidge from Chelsea for less than that.

As a dane it is a split decision this one, I would like him, but I think he remains me to much of Kalinic. It will only happen if Faxe is at the club. A danish invasion you see :-). Just wait the next is a summer trip to Denmark, where Rovers play against Brondby...cheers

I would have thought he would do well here but for that money surely there is better out there?!
