Kean steps in to defend Hanley

Rovers defender Grant Hanley has been backed to bounce back from his last minute penalty mishap against Fulham.

Hanley was identified by Mark Clattenburg as the man who committed the 'offence' that cost Rovers victory.

The blame on Hanley appears to be minimal given the softness of the decision but these incidents can often have a negative psychological effect on young players.

The Rovers gaffer told the Lancashire Telegraph - 'He has played well, he is a good player and he is getting better week-in and week-out.'

'To play against these type of strikers, he has dealt with it well.

'He has a bright future and it is a tough one for Grant.

'But we have to respect if the referee thinks he has got him in an aggressive manner.'

Unless of course the decision was ridiculous hey Steve?
