Rovers taking Dane on trial

Looks like Rovers are doing their homework for the summer with Danish international Thomas Kahlenburg heading over to Ewood for a trial after falling out of favour at his current club.

Kahlenburg is a Wolfsburg midfielder who has been told to find a new club after the boss accused him of 'lacking focus'.

The Daily Mail are reporting - 'The Denmark international has been suspended by the German side's manager Pierre Littbarski, who has accused him of lacking focus.

After being told to find a new club for next season, Kahlenberg has pitched up at Ewood Park in an attempt to impress manager Steve Kean.

Kahlenberg worked with Rovers assistant manager John Jensen at Brondby and it was the Dane who invited the midfielder on trial.'

How about we concentrate on staying up first guys?!

As Paul Ince's big mate Andrews has been a big success, Kean has had a thought that perhaps Jensens big mate can have a similar impact

I of course have to mentioned that the guy have potential, let see what happens. I would love us to get him. Also in the championship if that should be the outcome of negative progress we have at the moment, but hopefully not.......cheers

Great stuff, another midfielder on the books... could we show the door to Goulon, Grella and Andrews please first. To be honest I don't know whether this fella is any good so if he impresses Mr Kean we'll have to wait and see, he could be a decent player.

Do we know anything about him? There doesn't even seem to be the mandatory You Tube video?!

What do you want to know? :-)

Is he any good? Is he attacking or defensive? Pearls of wisdom please my good man...

attacking midfielder, creative, used to score goals but not recently due to him being damned lazy. was good and "next big thing" in denmark in around 2004. never really did it though....possibly due to the lazy issue. (from danish mate, i do not have this much knowledge of him)

He has played 31 matched for Denmark 3 goals, attacking midfielder as mentioned, can play at the flank or at the "Dunn" position. Is not so good at defending and has been a bit injury prone the last couple of years, but not as much as Grella though. I think he could challenge Olsson and Dunn at their positions (or maybe just back-up), as I don't see Venkys spending a lot of money on new players in the summer. I think he will be a very good buy for us (he is not lazy as mentioned - just need a trainer who belives him), if Faxe (big John as you call him) is still at the club, they know each other so it is depending of that. You could find some goals at him on youtube if you search for Thomas Kahlenberg, but not special one if not you are a Dane (1-0 against Sweden) ........cheers
