'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Scousers have half an eye on Robbo

Bit of a far fetched one for you this afternoon after it has been suggested in some media outlets that Liverpool have Paul Robinson on their shortlist of goalkeepers to sign in the summer if Pepe Reina leaves Liverpool for a club that is still a big hitter.

Reina has longed been linked with a move to somewhere other than Merseyside due to his excellent form over the last five seasons and if he can be prised away then Robbo will be considered to step into his shoes.

Robinson himself has been one of Rovers very few consistent performers this season and has been in cracking form in the main, eclipsing most of the stuff he has done at Spurs and Leeds.

But Robinson himself has commented more than once this season that he sees himself at the club for the long term - something I think most Rovers fans hope that he means.

Has anyone wondered how certain papers get hold of these short lists?!

Imperative that we hold onto Robinson, he has turned into an excellent goalkeeper...

he ll be the first off many to go we will be relegated this year cause keane doesnt no his arse from his head and with the owners they probabley come out with we are a selling club that want to finish in the top 4

I dont think hes been happy since Sam left. He clearly rated Allardyce calling him 'the best manager he has ever worked with'. I fear Robbo might have had enough here, especially if we dont sort things out, who can blame him?

hes been consistant, produced amazing performances regularly....its only natural that hes linked with big clubs.

I'm pretty sure it was previously stated that Robbo and Nelly (after BSA was sacked) stated they want to be at Rovers for the rest of their respective careers. If this is true (which I hope it is) then this should be a non starter. Oh and careful tubzz mate one day you'll say something positive on these articles :))

Pure paper talk again, with no genuine source or quotes from anyone, naturally Robbo will be linked with other clubs as he has been on top of his game but i wouldnt read too much into paper talk at this stage

all im saying is keane is a ginet { a cross between ass and a donkey} he s way to inexperence for this league even big sam said so well not the ginet bit if he was any good he wouldnt of came out with a team with andrews and grella playing in midfield in this league u cant have two defmidfielders its just stupid its a waste of a player this hole thing of going to villa for a point wats that about we d hammer villa anytime home or away with the team we have

Robbo is probably our best player at the moment - and in for a shout of player of the season. We shouldn't sell him. Liverpool have Reina, who I'm sure they will keep.

been our best player, no chance we'd let him go. keepers don't get good transfer fees so he won't move on for financial reasons

If I was a manager at any of the top clubs looking for a GK, Robinson would be a prime target, experienced at the top level and at the top of his game at the moment, possibly unsettled by BFS/Williams departures, unhappy with current performances and standings, no real chance of playing in Europe. Why wouldn't he be interested in moving. Plus he would get paid a pile more cash. Any decent side bids for Robbo and I think he'll go, and at the present time I couldn't really blame him.

not likely as it's still unclear whether reina is leaving
