Samba wants lines of communication open

Samba wants lines of communication open

Rovers captain seems to have been on s self improvement course over the last 48 hours as his latest musings are straight out of the personal analysis handbook.

Samba has been picking holes in the Rovers defensive strategy and believes success can be achieved by going back to basics.

Rovers have been fairly poor defensively in the last three games even though a clean sheet was achieved in the last outing against Newcastle.

Samba echoes these thoughts.

'I am happy to have a clean sheet (against Newcastle) but not really satisfied with the way we defended' Samba told rovers.co.uk

'There was a lack of communication and covering each other. We need to get back to the simple stuff that made us so hard to beat.

'From a solid defence we can build attacks and we need to organise better. We will build on this and try to get something more in the next game.'

Good to see Samba at least recognising the problem... but surely a better screen in front of them would help?

need to pick a defensive strategy whether it be zonal or man marking and stick to it, not just change it when we lose a game or too.

don't understand why would communication be missing suddenly? not that we have been shuffling the back line...

Sound words though.. I just wonder why Keano isn't making these suggestions?

How do you know he isn't and that Samba isn't merely reiterating his words? Just because he doesn't say it to the press doesn't mean he hasn't said it ;)

Isn't the captain on the pitch supposed to be doing most of the communicating?
