'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Jones signs on

Phil Jones has committed himself to Blackburn Rovers until 2016 by signing the new deal that was speculated this morning.

The move will be seen as a major coup for the club as Jones is hotly sought after by numerous clubs which can offer more cash and European football.

But the signing of the new deal shows where Phil's heart lies.

Boss Steve Kean told rovers.co.uk - 'This is great news, especially on the back of so many other key players committing themselves to the club.

'Phil has made incredible progress over the past year or so and his form, prior to his unfortunate injury setback, attracted a lot of attention.

'It speaks volumes that he is happy to stay here for the long term and we are all absolutely delighted.'
