Happy to have Formica? Thank Santa Cruz

Steve Kean is chuffed to bits to have the talent that is Mauro Formica on the books but he has given a portion of the credit for him choosing Rovers to Roque Santa Cruz.

Formica looked set for a move to the slightly warmer climates of Monaco but ended up choosing Rovers after Kean persuaded our Paraguayan to give Mauro a call.

Kean explained to Rovers official website - 'I found out that Mauro was very impressed with Roque and that he had followed his career, so I got Roque to make a quick call to him.

'He called him up, told him a little bit about the club and asked him if he would consider coming to us instead of going to Monaco and here he is!'.

Handsome, tall, good salesman. It's almost as if the injured star has no weaknesses ;)

"It's almost as if the injured star has no weaknesses" - except his knee ... and groin, except his knee and groin ... and calf. He has no weaknesses apart from his knee, his groin and his calf ... and ankle.
