Formica ready for Rovers

Mauro Formica has performed something of a u-turn and is set to sign for Blackburn Rovers after initially snubbing the boys in blue and white for Monaco last week.

The Newell's Old Boys forward had looked set to join Monaco after the French club had trumped Rovers with their secret weapon, a player called Lucas Bernardi who used to play for Monaco but now plays for Newell's Old Boys, to persuade Formica to move to the Formula One hot spot.

However, Formica is now in England setting terms over a move to Rovers after Monaco and Newell's Old Boys (N.O.B?!) failed to agreed a fee, which has let our lot back in.

The only sticking point seems to be his passport and whether it is out of date or not and whether he would need a visa? Something which is sadly way out of my league to explain.

Sounds like this could be a cracking addition but there could be some complications?

That's right, Mr. M. He is currently having problems with his work permit/passport. His current Italian passport is due to expire, which means he will have to apply for a work permit rather than just being allowed to join us due to his passport. He is seen as an emerging talent, which will work in his favour for a work permit application, but he hasn't played any games for Argentina (senior) which will work against him. Fingers crossed this will be resolved before Monday!

Hope we can get him in he looks decent... pmsl at the team name reference. No wonder he wants to leave after playing footie with a bunch of N.O.B's lol.

Haha good spot ITSALLROVER! Renewing an Italian passport is an arduous experience from overseas. I have experience there and if his old one is out of date it will be quite some time until he has it renewed lol. Its done through an embassy and the flow of communication is terribly slow - usually on the Italian end of the line. Slipping a few notes in with the form might help ;).

Dude N.O.B means Newell's Old Boys..one of the most popular teams in Argentina.. Player like Leonel Messi, Gabriel Batistuta, Walter Samuel, Gabriel Heinze, Marcelo Bielsa came out from this wonderful team. Also Diego Armando Maradona .. I believe you must remember this guy..pleayed from Newell's.. here some more information about newell's.. www.newellsoldboys.com.ar . 40.000 fans are in the stadium every sunday to see this team.. Now.. I do have a question for you.. What is Blackburn?.. a soccer team or a night club???..
