Salgado extends Rovers stay!

Real Madrid legend and Rovers' Favorite Michel Salgado has signed a 1 year contract at Ewood Park.

The right back/club ambassador had only a few months remaining on his contract, but has just signed a new deal which will see him stay at the club until June 2012.

Manager Steve Kean told the Lancashire Evening Telegraph:

"I am absolutely delighted about this. Michel`s experience is invaluable and his enthusiasm is totally infectious around the place.

"He is a winner and you can`t have too many of them."

Personally I think this is a great bit of business. Yes by the end of next season he may not be able to play every game, but his experience and knowledge is extremely valuable for our younger players, not to mention his negotiation skills with possible transfer targets!!

When Salgado first arrived at Rovers, I was one of the ones who said '45k a week!??! What a waste of money' but since I have had my slice of humble pie, and I would go as far to say that he has become one of my favorite Rovers players of all time. He puts in 100% to everything he does, and is a true class act.

Good news, waiting for Samba to do likewise.

Brilliant news, after Roque he is my favourite! When he came it made missing Tugay more bearable! Salgado is a good ambassador for the club!

Awesome news, he is a greate xample to the younger lads and as Steve Kean says "you can't have too many winners in your side." Because that is exactly what he is...

well said, a true class act who has added so much to the club- and some of his performances at RB have been nothing sort of inspiring

Great stuff! Salgado's been a consistent player for us and could be a key figure in getting the likes of Ronaldinho to even consider coming to Rovers. Samba and Robbo to sign up this week fingers crossed!!

glad kean is still keen on salgado. i was afraid he may be one of the players that would get shunned out by the new manager.
