Jones completes Rovers loan move

Rovers midfielder Jermaine Jones has completed his loan move to the club from Schalke bright and breezy this morning.

'He's a fantastic signing for us,' Kean told Rovers' official website.

'Anybody who knows him as a player, he's a natural ball winner, he's a very good passer as well.

'He's got a fantastic engine, he can go box-to-box, he's a genuine all round midfield player.'

I know we've got a few defensive midfielders on the books but he could be useful with the injuries we've got at the moment. At least he hasn't been dubbed "the new Vieira" lol. Also only a loanee which makes perfect sense.

It looks like he can plough forward a bit better than players like Grella and the Zonz though so here's hoping he can add an extra dimension!!!

Really happy with this one. Hopefully he can add something going forward in the centre.. because at the mo its just Hoilett and Olsson going forward down the wings..

We needed a forceful midefielder and hopefully jones is that player

being a loner seems good because i am not sure how much commited he would be, considering his previous manager's comments ...

Jones has an awful attitude. I follow German football quite closely having lived there and Schalke droppe him and their results immediately picked up. Coincidence maybe. However, whenever I have watched him he has looked fairly decent and when it comes to pace and physicality the Bundesliga is probably the most like England, so adapting shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I am looking forward to see this guy play and lets hope he settles in and doesnt play up as in previous places !! if he is a Flitcroft or McKinlay then great !!

No harm landing him on loan here, we got some injuries in midfield, we'll see how he performs. He got till season end to win a permanent deal.
