'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kean to talk Samba into Rovers stay

Rovers boss Steve Kean has reaffirmed his position with regards to defender Chris Samba and insists that he has a big part to play at Rovers in the future.

Speculation has been rife (love that word) that Samba is heading for the exit door at Ewood Park but the bald one thinks you only need to look at his performance from the other night to assess his commitment to the club.

Kean spoke to Sky Sports and said - 'We have not had anybody trying to get any of our players, we want to keep our squad intact,'

'Anybody who saw the way Chris played against Liverpool [on Wednesday], you certainly can't fault his commitment.

'He's playing with a smile on his face, he's happy to be back in the team and back out on the grass.

'So hopefully we can convince Chris that we are moving forward and that he is a big part of that.'

I like the guys optimism, people are slating him for being unrealistic but what would be the point of being negative if you have your opportunity. His optimism spread on to the players noticeably against liverpool. Never under Big Sam would we have gone for a second or third goal but i can see why the new owners like kean, he really is an optimistic and hopeful guy and you need that positive attitude.
