'If It's Football, It's Vital'

Kean - that was really rather good chaps

Well it is not too difficult to spot who is the happiest man on the planet at the moment.

Rovers boss Steve Kean has hailed last night's win over Liverpool as 'outstanding all around' and to be fair to the heavily criticised Scot it is difficult to disagree.

Rovers were without EIGHT players for the visit of Roy Hodgson's lot but that didn't matter as a super showing involving Junior Hoilett and Martin Olsson on the wings made Rovers look dynamite/

Kean told the Lancashire Telegraph - "Outstanding all round and I think it could even have been more.

'We would always like to bring quality players to our club and it is only a matter of time.

"But the boys showed togetherness and commitment is probably better than any type of player.

'I will see where we are with Ronaldinho in the morning but tonight showed it is not about one individual it is about a team.

"It is about togetherness and that team display is better than any individual display can be."

"I thought we were tremendous. Overall we tried to stop Liverpool play from the back.

'We tried to play quick on the break through Martin Olsson and Junior Hoilett and overall we were worthy winners of the three points.

"I don`t think it is about me, it is about showing there is a togetherness and a tight group downstairs.

'We are down to the bare bones, we have a lot of injuries and I said to them that is how you show team spirit.

"It shows the togetherness because we showed energy, enthusiasm.

'We went after the second goal and the third and shows confidence and ability."

For what it is worth people have been saying that we have dropped points under Kean's style that we wouldn't have under Allardyce but I reckon we gained two points last night that wouldn't have been collected under the old boss.

Difficult not to be impressed last night and Kean does seem to interview well...

We could really do to get a pic of Kean for the top of our articles now that he is our perm manager!

I have put one in with the powers that be but they take a few days to come through my good man!!!

Holiett n Ollson on the wings were brilliant, was nice to see wide attacking football instead of hoofball up thru the middle.

Well deserved victory and 3 points, but haven't made up for the loss of Stoke, Sunderland West Ham points... Let's wait and see...

Totally agree, I wasn't sure what to think of Kean's appointment as I didn't know much about him but last night's performance was very pleasing to watch. Under Big Sam we never went for the 2nd or 3rd goal we always seemed happy to sit back almost inviting teams to attack without any counter attacking flair to complement it. Very refreshing to see and if Kean likes to play like this I'm all for it.

It was a good evening for sure. Football won the day and the win should be dedicated to Steve Bruce. Liverpool were poor though, very poor. As usual in the media its all about how bad the opposition was, rather than how good Rovers were.

agree with metal...it's too early to judge. it's inexplicable how people could jump on the kean-wagon simply because of a win over a mediocre liverpool side.
