Nelsen honoured by New Zealand

Rovers very own Ryan Nelsen has been honoured in the New Zealand New Year's honours list after his incredible efforts in the summer World Cup with his All White New Zealand side.

Nelsen captained the side that managed to go through their group stage undefeated and put in a simply unbelievable effort in the 1-1 draw with Italy.

Ryan himself was a bit funny about the award and put the credit down to the whole side playing as a team.

Nelsen was quoted in the Lancashire Telegraph as saying - "I`m not a big fan of individual honours within a team sport.

'Every single one of the guys did exceptionally well in South Africa, so it feels a bit funny to singled out from an amazing team effort."

Even if he feels funny about it this is undoubtedly deserved and a magnificent honour.

Well done Admiral!

Well done Mr Nelsen. I think he should be given the captains arm band back permanently as well he's the right man for the job at the moment.
