Rovers chasing Norwich defender

With the transfer window opening in less than 24 hours where would the world be without a little bit of speculation?

So big money moves for David Beckham and Robbie Keane have been cast aside for the less glamours story that Rovers are after Norwich right back Russell Martin.

The Daily Mail is reporting - 'Steve Kean is making Norwich defender Russell Martin his first signing as Blackburn manager.

Kean is bringing in the £500,000-rated Martin as a long-term replacement for right-back Michel Salgado who is considering offers from the Middle East.

Martin, 24, has been promoted to the Championship with both Peterborough and Norwich after coming into football from the non-league game at Wycombe.'

Could be a shrewd little move this.

I am sure we will be linked with more high profile signings but this could be pretty good value...

Is this a joke? So much for better off with Venkys.. Walkers = Real Madrid legend Venkys = Championship nobody.. haha only messing.. but seriously.. if there is any truth in us having money.. then spend it.. we already have Jackson Ramm coming through the system at RB this guy will be no better..

Pfft. He's worth 4 times that much to us! First-choice (and only RB) at a club pushing for promotion, do you honestly see this happening?! Clearly none of you have seen the guy play - he gets forward well and is capable of defending one-on-one (which he has to do A LOT since we play a very attacking formation with a narrow midfield). Also currently ranked in the top 15 players in the division, among the top 3 defenders and the highest-ranked full-back. Think he has the potential to push on and play in the Prem, he's still only 24 after all. But I hope he does it as a Norwich player! HANDS OFF.

He did this in league 1 and the championship.. it is a massive step up to the premier league.. however if he signs I will support him.. not the right man though imo!
